Last Saturday, some 15 car haulers carried the classic sports cars making up the caravan of the twenty-eighth edition of the 1000 Millas Sport.

In the Pipa Tigre complex, amongst the 131 mechanical jewels of all time, the AC 16/80 Comp. Sport of the five-times Argentine Historic Sports champion, Daniel Erejomovich, and the Züst that took part in the 1908 New York-Paris race were loaded to be carried to San Carlos de Bariloche.

As the 1000 Millas is the second event of significance for the Food Bank, the model and TV hostess will be in charge of the fundraising auction.

Although in 2011 he added his name to the gold album of the 1000 Millas Sport, Daniel Erejomovich acknowledges that a victory in Patagonia is long overdue. That "emergency" edition was held in Córdoba as a result of the eruption of the Puyehue Volcano.

And even though he was very close to winning afterwards, he still hasn't been able to. Considering how 2016 is playing out, the chances of winning this time are looking good. Erejomovich has won 6 out of the 7 rallies organized under the Argentine Historic Sports Championship, and with his fifth title, he became the biggest winner since 1999, the year the regularity race was included in the championship.

Erejomovich, with victories in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015, and 2016, can also achieve his fourth Triple Crown on board his 1938 AC 16/80 Comp. Sport, one of the 18 pre-war cars that are waiting for their collectors in San Carlos de Bariloche to travel since Thursday some 1600 kilometers while unveiling some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Argentine Patagonia.
This last weekend, one of the traditional moments of every edition of South America's most relevant classic car race took place, uninterruptedly for over two decades: the loading of cars following their technical inspection for general operation of regulatory lights, brakes, tires, fire extinguishers, and safety belts. A team of seasoned and highly responsible professionals, completed all 15 car haulers, holding 8-9 vehicles each.

Although all of them have an exceptional historical and sports value, the 1908 Züst has the privilege of starting with No.  1, and will give prestige to the race for having been one of the participants of the Great Race around the world linking New York and Paris. This car also features a chain drive. With the intent of emulating the 1907 Peking-Paris race, on February 12, 1908 the start line at Times Square was the Züst, an American Thomas Flyer, a German Protos, a De Dion, a Moto Bloc, and a French Sizaire-Naudin. "Strange" events took place during the race, such as the withdrawal of a team, and even a change of crew. But finally, on September 17, the car arrived to Paris after 28,730 km. More distance and more time compared to the 26,200 km of the winning Thomas. The Züst had a successful racing history, with good results in the Coppa d'Oro, and the Targa Florio, to name a few.

Considering that through FIVA, the 1000 Millas has achieved the support of the Unesco, which has designated 2016 as the World Motoring Heritage Year, all the condiments to live another great edition are present.

As always, Club de Automóviles Sport will also be pursuing one of its usual charitable actions. The same way it organizes the Winter Rally to raise funds for the Lory Barra Foundation, or to support the Conín Foundation, in Bariloche it will support the Food Bank, which will apply a portion of the funds raised to the Patagonian city. The model and TV hostess Andrea Frigerio has been summoned to be in charge of the iconic auction to raise funds for thousands of children in need of a meal every day of the year.
