Confirmed route for the 1000 Millas Sport
Based in San Carlos de Bariloche, the traditional competition comprises three stages in the provinces of Rio and Neuquén. Route is almost 1300 km long, including six totally new special stage sections. There are almost 100 crews entered. Closing of entries is scheduled for next week.
Thirty days before the start of the 31st edition of the 1000 Millas Sport, the organization confirmed the itinerary of the event, which will be based in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, with three legs along roads in the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén, visiting the most beautiful cities of the Patagonian Andes. The competition will be disputed under the modality of regularity sprint from Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 November, along a route of 1260 km.
The competition is organised by the Club de Automóviles Sport and is open to the participation of classic sports cars of all times, with almost a hundred crews already confirmed from both Argentina and abroad. The 1000 Millas Sport are valid for the Historic Sport Championship supervised by the CDA of the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA) and also for the Triple Crown, a contest that also comprises the Rally de las Bodegas and the Rally de la Montaña.
The Club de Automóviles Sport works closely with the provincial governments and municipalities involved, following a new trend of bringing competition much closer to the public, in key places such as the Centro Cívico of Bariloche, where children and adults will enjoy at all times the party of the classic cars.
Daniel Claramunt summed up the changes in the route: “On a sporting level there will be six totally new special stage sections for the crews. There are also new hospitality locations, that is to say the stops the caravan makes between the special stages. The Elegance Contest venue will also be new for the 1000 Millas Sport.”
The competition will take participants to the most touristic cities of the southern Andes, from San Carlos de Bariloche, to Villa La Angostura, San Martín de los Andes, Junín de los Andes and El Bolsón, along the scenic “Camino de los 7 Lagos”.
